Staff members of Sinopec Kantons Holdings Limited (Stock Ticker: 0934) participated in the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) initiated Million Trees (Forest) Programme at Ngong Ping, Lautau Island North District in Hong Kong. Million Trees (Forest) Programme is one of the prominent tree planting education programmes in Hong Kong. Through plantingtree and environmental afforestation, the programme helps to promote green Hong Kong and to enhance public awareness in forestry protection and globalwarming.

Our Company consistently delivers corporate social responsibility and makes substantial efforts to become good corporate citizens. The Company advocates promoting energy saving and carbon reduction by encouraging staff members to get involved in environmental and voluntary works. On the day of tree planting, following the training and instructions given by the voluntary workers at Million Trees (Forest) Programme, our staff took actions accompanying with other participants/ corporations to jointly plant trees. The species we planted included formosana, Hong Kong Gordonia and wild coffee …etc.

Million Trees (Forest) Programme is under the initiation of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Their initiative in Asia is “The climate save the future!”. Hong Kong is one the cities endorsed in the Million Trees ( Forest ) Project (MTP). The Project’s main task is to assist anti-desertification, afforestation and environmental sustainable development education etc.. Through these programmes, they continue to address to the issues of global warming.
